Accidental People

The next time you’re in a public place — a coffeehouse, a park, a store — observe the people around you. Pick a person, a couple, or a group, and imagine what their lives might be like.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us IMAGINE.

I dont often take photos of people I dont know.  i’m a great fan of street photography, but I think it’s rude if I do it. Too voyeuristic!  This photo, of the Jardin Des Plantes in Paris, wasnt meant to capture people. I was using the telephoto lens to emphasize the avenue of trees. Months later, I saw that there were three people in it. They are more or less symmetrical.   For me, they make an average photo much, much better.  I wonder who they are? Could they imagine being in a photo? I didnt see them at the time, they probably didnt see me. I wonder how many photos I’m in, background extra in a cast of thousands…..
